The King of Arizona mine is gone, but the surrounding beauty and history remains relatively untouched.

Just a few hours from our home is a natural treasure few people we’ve met have even heard of: The KOFA National Wildlife Refuge. We loved it so much we went twice within three months and camped a week each time.

From barren desert to wild off road trips, the weird world of Quartsite to the vanished world of Castle Dome, we saw a lot in a short time.
