Suddenly it was all gone.
We spent years developing our “forever home” on Whidbey Island in Washington. It was everything we wanted. Then we saw Arizona.
Suddenly, everything became too much.
We realized the world wasn’t gray 9 months a year. Everything changed.
Here’s how our fabulous realtor showed, and sold, our beautiful island retreat.
What happened?
The early years were weekend retreats from Seattle starting in 2007, when we bought the land just before the real estate crash.
Early Days
We loved the landscaping and home building process. Moving dirt and planting ferns evolved into weeding driveways and vegetables. I liked digging up stumps. We had huge bonfire parties twice a year. Built a barn. Later on, Fred liked building raised beds with wood he milled from our trees. Then we ran out of trees.

Selling was hard. Mostly getting rid of so. much. stuff. A house full, a barn full, a shed full. Everything you see here, and so much more. Three years later, I again have too much stuff.
